Our Story
As Dr. Paul Nogier introduced his newly discovered inverted fetus presentation, it took the world of acupuncture by storm. The Chinese quickly adopted the system and modified it. Chinese ear acupuncture became one of the cornerstones of TCM and remains unchanged for the past 60 years. Paul Nogier and colleagues, however, continued to improve the system and their work resulted in the discovery of two newly advanced systems known as; the three-phase auricular therapy and the highly sophisticated system known as auricular medicine.
Chinese ear acupuncture continued unchanged providing functionally oriented ear points intended for use by the barefoot doctors. Functional Chinese ear acupuncture is not necessarily treating a particular organ or structure but addressing points that appear to help with certain symptoms. This is in contrast to Nogier’s system which is based on embryological and anatomical classifications. As Chinese ear acupuncture fails to provide the proper designation for the ear points, it would naturally fall short of completely restoring the health of the individual and providing any additional supportive treatment needed.
This institute is dedicated to teach the soul of Nogier’s discoveries that are considered to be some of the most fascinating discoveries of the twentieth century. In-depth teaching of the correct mapping and the correct localizations with all the advances achieved by Nogier and other practitioners all over the world will help further advance this wonderful technique and help further studies and research projects.
